All fish must be caught in the seas covered by the UK
Forecast area
The fish must be heavier than the previous entry, if
one already exists. Equal weights won't count.
Fish on the
NFSA Mini-Species list and fish under 1lb for all other species will
not be counted due to the inaccuaracy of weighing live fish at sea.
Furthermore, to clarify the entry to the
"Big Ones" list. You don't necessarily have to catch a big fish to get on
the list. If you catch a particular species that is not listed and provided
that it exceeds 1lb in weight, record it, even if it is a tiddler for that
species. You never know, you may be the only skipper to have caught one by
the end of the year.
It may be worthwhile taking a record of this list afloat
with you too.
Please note that the list above is a
record of the biggest examples of fish reported by the competitors of the
Annual Bragging Race. It was brought to our attention that some species
may be below the MAFF/NSFA minimum size limits. All
competitors wish it to be known that only fish that exceed the minimum size
limits are taken "for the pot", but any fish that the competitor considers
may make it onto this list are weighed/recorded and where necessary returned
unharmed.
